EPISODE-265 FINDING A JOB AND HAVING A SKILLED TRADE

Today’s episode is about having a skilled trade and finding a job. Just so everyone knows this is a prerecorded episode, so i have a job now. I got quite a few messages about the last episode asking if i needed any help. The answer is no, i am good, prepping and living a frugal lifestyle has been a proven win for me. On that note, Thank you everyone for the concern and i am thankful for the all of the support you all have given me.

Now about having a skilled trade,  having a skilled trade helped me get reemployed very quickly. It helped me start at a higher wage than someone who had no experience in the skilled trades.

EPISODE 245 LEARNING A TRADE

I know today’s episode was supposed to be about water catchment but somehow i got off topic and started about learning a trade. Sometimes a decent episode comes out of my rants.

Learning a trade can be one of the best ways to learn a skill that can be with you for the rest of your life. There are many trades out there but i talk about welding because that is the trade i went to school for. Learning a trade is one way to have very little student debt or avoid it all together. When i went to welding school i paid $4,100. now the same program costs $8,400 and you can check it out here.

Now considering that the average starting wage for a welder is $33,277.00 thats not too bad of return on your investment to lean a skill that will be with you the rest of your life. Also in about 10 years there will be a shortage of people in the skilled trades when the last of the baby boomers retire in the next 10 or so years so the average salary is probably going up.  So if you want to hear about learning a trade that will be with you the rest of your life listen in today!

You can hear my episode on buying a welder by clicking the picture below.

Sorry i haven’t had an episode out in a while guys, I had a lot going on around here and i didn’t have time to edit and upload podcasts like i wanted to. The bummer is now i am all caught up and now i am having technical issues with the site and i cant get it to let me upload more than 25% of a podcast. So i didnt want to let you go with out a podcast any longer so i am posting an old episode. This episode is originally episode 31. I know the audio is going to be crappy but like i said i cant upload anything so i cant even re edit the episode and re upload it. Anyway i hope you stick with me till i get this figured out and i hope you enjoy this podcast from my first year of podcasting.

Today i discuss how to inspect a gun when you are buying it and how to sight in a rifle . I discuss what to look for as far as finish of a rifle and things to check when looking over the mechanical parts .If you are ever in doubt a bout a rifle you should always refer to a gunsmith is you are not 100% sure on something .This is meant to be a guide to help you weed out the crappy firearms from the better ones . I also discuss how to sight in a rifle scope without a boresighter, which is becoming a lost art nowadays. I also discuss how to adjust open sights on a rifle .

EPISODE 238 SURVIVAL BOOKS

Today’s episode is on survival books. My definition of survival books may be different than yours though. My definition of a survival book is a book that has anything in it that can teach you skills that you need to survive. It could be a book on solar power, fishing, hunting, trapping, general building or electrical wiring.  Having these skills are an important part of any diyers skill set. Listen in today to hear more of my thoughts on survival books .

EPISODE-210 KNOWING HOW THINGS WORK

Hi everyone,

Today’s episode is on knowing how things work. As preppers i think we need to know how things work because otherwise when things go bad we wont know how to fix them. We are all responsible for ourselves first. If we cant fix things for ourselves how can we fix things for others? Listen in today for more of my thoughts on this subject.

We now have a forum up and running!!!!! Please stop by and check it out , we don’t have a lot on there yet but we wanted to have a place where everyone can share their ideas on prepping and diy.
