EPISODE 243 THE HAMMER SLINGSHOT

Today’s episode is going to be my inital review of The Hammer slingshot from simple-shot.com . The Hammer is a modular system that can go between being a regular slingshot and a sling bow which makes it perfect for hunting in the woods or being in your bugout bag. The design of The Hammer lets you remove the regular slingshot head and replace it with a sling bow head giving it a lot of versatility in the field. The Hammer has a rail on it for mounting accessories on it as well. You can buy a bowfishing setup for it or you can make other attachments for it as well. Listen in to today’s show to hear all of my thoughts on the hammer slingshot.

EPISODE 237 REVERSE ENGINEERING

Today’s episode is on reverse engineering. What is reverse engineering you ask? Reverse engineering is the art of seeing something and deciding “Hey i can build that!” and being able to figure out how it’s made and replicating it for yourself. one of the benefits of reverse engineering something is being able to see any weak points and fixing them before they are a problem. Also you can take an idea and build it to your specifications and build it with better materials for yourself there by improving the usability and life expectancy of what you are building. So if you want to hear some of my thoughts on reverse engineering listen in to today’s episode .

EPISODE-236 2 KNIFE REVIEW

Today i review 2 knives, one from Gerber called the EAB lite its a small everyday carry knife. It is a foldable box cutter that weighs mere ounces and when its folded up looks like more like a money clip than a knife. This is actually a follow up about one year after carrying one of these knives for a year. Here are some stats on the Gerber EAB lite.

DSCF6085

  • Open Length: 5.10″
  • Blade Length: 1.5″
  • Closed Length: 2.85″
  • Weight: 2.5 oz
  • Handle Material: Stainless Steel

You can find  the Gerber EAB lite on amazon for xxx by clicking this link Here.

The second knife is a knife from Titan international knives. It is the closest thing that they sell to a bushcrafting knife that i could find,Titan international is a smaller producer of knives from Verona WI. They produce ,from what i can tell a semi custom knife. I think they buy the blanks and make the handles which makes them an affordable knife for the first time buyer.it appars that they do the final fit and finish on their knives.

DSCF6084

The knife i bought from them is made out of 15N20, 1095 damascus steel, which it appears that they make a lot of their knives from. The handle is made from black micarta with brass pins.

  • OA length 9″
  • Blade width 1.25″
  • Blade length 4.75″
  • Handle length 4.25″
  • Blade thickness 3/16″
  • Handle thickness 3/4″
